A pair of Mexicana boots is the culmination of a sophisticated process, a four-month journey where technology would count for little without the human touch and the skill of dozens of artisans steeped in the traditions and customs of their homeland.
From the selection of the hides to the designs and final touches, the process involves over 175 delicate steps, such as centering and sizing, during which the human hand softens the mechanical precision of the machinery.
This is how the boot is born in our workshops: with patience and thoughtful care, never rushed; for once the hide is cut, it becomes a living, supple material that demands a sensitive touch.
After soaking up the sun and undergoing the tanning process, the leather is saturated with water using a unique method that makes it pliable enough to be worked by hand, stretched, molded, and shaped much like a piece of pottery.
Thierry’s inspiration transforms the leather, giving it an unexpected, original look. He remains constantly on-site, attentive to this slow evolution and dedicated to preserving an ancestral manufacturing secret. That is undoubtedly why every pair is different, unique, and ready to mold perfectly to any foot.
